Our resistance lies in remembering—a powerful force of resilience and sovereignty.
The Memory Messenger's performance and presence help us regain integration and overcome alienation through memories of care and unity.
In a world full of alienation and disconnection, remembering becomes a vital tool of resistance. By reconnecting with our past, our communities, and our rich ancestral knowledge, we remind ourselves of our strengths and the revolutionary power of caring.
This act of remembering challenges the fragmentation and competitiveness of modern life. By holding onto our memories and nurturing a culture of care, we resist the loss of our wisdom, knowledge, and sovereignty. In doing so, we assert our right to exist fully and authentically, fostering a deeper sense of connection and belonging.
Memory messenger is a in- situ performance by a character dressed in a costume with some 90 pockets containing aromatic plants, seeds, greenery and flowers, whose presence awakens olfactory and gustatory senses and memories in people. It is an experience that we have most of the time unconsciously. This character, whose costume was embroidered by the Amidon association, an integration project in Provence (France), also embodies our way of experiencing encounters, reconnecting stories, memories, narratives of time and care.
The memory messenger is a bridge to the recipes, stories and memories of care.
